The 3 Mistakes Students Make in the Morning
Your child plans to have a productive day of study and the way they start the day makes all the difference. Here are the 3 mistakes students make when they awake in the morning.

Good morning! This is Jason Ursino from Learning Space and I'm driving to school.
Today I'm going to be talking about the three mistakes students make when they wake up in the morning.
To start the day properly is very, very important if you have to use the day, utilise the day, to study for an important exam, like the HSC. So starting the day is very important. If you don't do it right, you're not going to have a very productive day. And there are three mistakes that students make when they wake up, which makes the day not very productive. The entire day is written off if you don't avoid these three mistakes.
Number one is snooze. A lot of students use the snooze button. I have heard that there’s students sometimes that will set their alarm even an hour before they're supposed to get up so they can snooze for a good hour before they get up in the morning. The snooze button is actually not good at all for a productive day. What happens is when you wake up in the morning from an alarm clock, and you press the snooze button, your body automatically goes into the sleep cycles again. There's a lot of research on this all over the internet, the snooze is actually not a good thing and if you reset your sleep cycles, and wake up nine minutes later or whatever the snooze is, what will happen is that you will wake up even more tired. So do not use the snooze button, just get up as soon as the alarm clock is set. So set the right time that you need to get up in the morning, and do not snooze and just get up.
The second mistake the students make is looking at their phone. When you wake up in the morning, you have an agenda for the day. In fact, you think about that agenda before going to sleep the night before and when you wake up in the morning, that's the first thing that you think about when you get up. You think about the last thing that you thought about going to bed and it's usually about the goals that you've set for the day, the agenda that you have, what you need to do in that day to make it a productive day. As soon as you look at your phone, what will happen is that agenda can change. Social media, emails, SMS’s from friends will pollute that agenda in your mind. Instead of being your agenda, it's going to be your friend's SMS’s agenda, or an email promotion agenda that's going to come into your mind. It's going to interrupt what you have set for the day, the first one or two hours of your day is the most productive part that your mind can do in terms of studying for an exam, and that will be interrupted with your phone. So stay away from your phone as soon as you get up in the morning. Get yourself up, brush your teeth, and let your mind wander on your own. So you can make sure that your day is of your own agenda, not someone else's.
And finally, not stretching. When you get up in the morning it's almost natural to just stretch and just get away from that sleep mode. Stretching gives an idea to the body that it's time to get up and to get into the active activities of the day.
So they’re the three mistakes that students make in the morning. The first one is the snooze, do not use that snooze button. The second one is the phone, do not touch the phone in the morning. And finally forgetting to stretch in the morning. Make sure you stretch and get yourself ready for a productive day.
