Jason Ursino brings over 20 years of classroom experience, specialising in secondary mathematics and working closely with high-performing HSC students. As Head of Curriculum at Redfield College, he is directly involved in shaping academic programs, assessments, and student outcomes.
His approach goes beyond simply helping students complete their work. The focus is on building a clear understanding of each subject, developing confidence, and creating consistent academic progress over time.
Jason works closely with both students and parents to ensure there is complete clarity around where a student is at, what needs to improve, and how to get there. The guidance is practical, honest, and focused on long-term results.
Real improvement comes from getting the fundamentals right and building from there.
Jason’s approach is centred around three key areas:
Clear understanding of the content so students know what they’re doing and why
Regular practice at the right level to challenge and build capability
Consistent feedback from experienced teachers to guide progress
This is the same approach used in high-performing classrooms, adapted to give students the support they need outside of school.

Jason has spent more than two decades working directly with students in the classroom, giving him a deep understanding of how students learn, where they struggle, and what actually leads to improvement.
In his role at Redfield College, Jason oversees curriculum development, assessment structures, and academic standards. This provides a clear insight into how schools operate and what is expected of students at every stage.
Jason has led HSC classes that consistently achieve strong results, including high Band 6 outcomes, and brings a deep understanding of the NSW syllabus and assessment standards. With extensive experience across the education system, he understands how courses are structured, how students are assessed, and how to prepare effectively for exams. He also provides practical guidance through key academic decisions, including subject selection, navigating mathematics pathways, and preparing for the HSC, helping students stay on track and reach their potential.
Jason is a father, and understands first-hand the pressures families face when it comes to school, expectations, and academic performance. This perspective shapes the way he works with both students and parents, with empathy, clarity, and a focus on what will genuinely help each student improve.
He recognises that academic success is not just about what happens in a lesson, but also what happens at home. That’s why his communication with parents is practical and transparent, helping them understand where their child is at, what challenges they may be facing, and how they can best support them.
Jason also shares practical insights with parents through his Driving to School video series, where he covers topics such as study habits, motivation, managing workload, and supporting teenagers through the demands of secondary school. These insights are grounded in real classroom experience and designed to give parents clear, actionable guidance.
